On the first day of my freshman year of college, I took an entire pad of Post-It notes and wrote on each one:
"Hi! I'm Kylie from Nelson 301 & I love to make friends - come say hi! :)" and plastered them on every door of my freshman dorm village. That's how I met my best friend, and subsequently, a majority of my closest friends today.
My first job after college was the prestigious (only 12 of 1,500 applicants are hired annually) position as an Oscar Mayer Hotdogger: I was the Spokesperson, Brand Ambassador & Driver of the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. I spent 365 days making people across America fall in love with the brand through face-to-face interactions and media interviews like the TODAY show, CNN, AOL.com, and more.
Convincing a stranger to pay attention to a 30-foot long hot dog car wasn't a giant hurdle. But, concisely and enthusiastically communicating the brand message every single time is a talent I proudly possess.
As my Wienermobile contract came to a close, I knew my path was headed for Los Angeles. Within months of arriving, I had kicked-off an established career as an Entertainment Journalist. With only seconds on a red carpet to win someone over enough to talk with me and get a great sound byte, I mastered the art of breaking the ice.
Simultaneously, I also built a lengthy career behind the scenes, producing record-breaking content for HGTV and Cosmopolitan.com, to name a few.
Craving a career that had a foundation of community, I moved to the female-run tech startup, Kitchen Table App. Juggling the tasks of growing a user-base through a grassroots marketing campaign, I developed a skillset of winning others over and building a large network of ambitious intellectuals who crave connecting with like-minded individuals. And that is where I happily fell into where I am today.
Fun facts about me:
I love all things woo but haven't dabbled with crystals...yet.
I also love comedy so much I'm going to marry a comic. Together we produce a monthly wine tasting + comedy show in our apartment and you should probably come to the next one.
We live in an adorable West Hollywood apartment and treat our plants like our children.
I feel incredibly blessed and grateful to have created a life that is full of great people in a beautiful city.
